About the Backpack Challenge

The Backpack Challenge is a collaborative community effort, spearheaded by Valley Youth House and the Philadelphia Department of Human Services, to collect backpacks, school supplies, and funds for youth at the Achieving Independence Center.

There are many ways to get involved, from hosting a collection site, donating school supplies or backpacks, or becoming an event sponsor. If you're interested, contact Valerie Johnson at vjohnson@vyhphila.org or 215-925-3180 today!

You're invited to join us for the Closing Ceremony on August 27th at 2pm at the Impact Hub. The event will be emceed by Wired 96.5's Buster & Mijo, and we'll hear from the Impact Hub's Rashaun Williams, Here's My Chance's David Gloss, VYH alum Gabrielle Taylor. There will also be a youth performance coordinated by local rap artist Chill Moody.
Hope to see you there!
